How can I create a tournament bracket?
To create a tournament bracket:
1. Create a new game format defined as "tournament brackets" under the Polls, surveys, battles & personality tests category.
2. Customize your game through two main tabs: "Layout" and "Tournament Brackets."
What customizations can I make in the Layout tab?
In the Layout tab, you can configure the overall layout with specific items such as background colors, line colors, shapes (round or square), fonts and font sizes, etc.
What options are available in the Tournament Brackets tab?
In the Tournament Brackets tab, you can:
- Choose the number of competitors (16, 8, or 4), starting from the 8th final, quarter-final, or semi-final.
- Define competitors through their image and label.
- Drag and drop competitors to change the order of confrontations.
- Customize round titles (e.g., quarter-final, semi-final, and final).
How do participants play the game?
The gameplay involves:
- The bracket being displayed at the top of the screen with a focus on the active match.
- Participants choosing between competitor one or two by clicking on them.
- The bracket advancing as matches conclude, moving through the rounds until a winner is determined.
- The winner being displayed with a trophy icon at the end of the game.
- Participants can scroll back up to change their previous confrontations results
How are winners determined in the tournament?
Winners are determined by participant voting. The bracket progresses with each selection, culminating in a final match to decide the ultimate winner, who is then showcased with a trophy icon.
Is there an emphasis on any particular match during gameplay?
Yes, the active match in play is always emphasized by being kept at the forefront of the screen to maintain participant focus and engagement.
How can draw a winner among those who had the correct winner or the correct winner and final?
To do that, you'll need to go to the "Winners" section and click on "Filter". Filter by text and do the following:
Draw winner(s) in the participations who had the correct winner:
winner: {winningCompetitor}Example: winner: Real Madrid
Draw winner(s) in the participations who had the correct winner and runner-up:
winner:{winningCompetitor} | loser: {losingCompetitor}Example: winner: Real Madrid | loser: Inter
Is the tournament bracket format accessible?
Yes! This format has built-in accessibility features by default:
- Screen readers will ignore the decorative bracket design and instead read out meaningful information, such as round titles (quarter-final, semi-final, final) and clear action labels like: "Select Real Madrid as winner of match 1"
- There are no flashing animations, ensuring the game is safe for users with photosensitivity
However, there are a few optional settings you can configure for better accessibility:
- Outline color: By default, no outline is applied to the buttons at the bottom of the tournament bracket. You can select an outline color, but make sure it provides enough contrast
- Font size units: For optimal scaling and readability, we recommend using rem or em units for text size instead of fixed pixel values
