How do I create a "Slice it!" game?
To create a "Slice it!" game:
- Open Qualifio and click the "Create a new campaign" button
- Select "Games" > "Slice it!"
- If the participant needs to register, pick the “identified” mode. If no registration is required, select “anonymous”
- Select "Create campaign"
After you create your campaign, you can start setting up the game.
Choose a game to customise
In the Game step, there are several ready-to-use games you can use as an inspiration.
Once you decide which game you want to start with, select "Customise this game".

Note: Custom games allow you to create and save your own game templates. To save the design and gameplay mechanics as a custom game, you only need to open the editor, edit your game however you like, and then click “Save as new game”. Custom games can also be found in the Documents section under the “Advanced formats”.
What game modes are available in "Slice it!"?
There are three game modes:
- Live-Based: Players have a set number of lives to slice items, losing a life for slicing forbidden items until they run out.
- Time-Based: Players aim to achieve the highest score by slicing as many items as possible within a given timeframe.
- Number-Based: Players are given a set number of item occurrences to react to and slice.
What can I customize the "Slice it!" section?
Customization options include:
- Slice only on click: Decide if players playing on a computer have to click with the mouse to be able to slice an item or if simply hovering over the item with the mouse will be enough to start the slicing.
- Slicing Color: Choose the color displayed when slicing on the screen.
- Items and Scoring: Upload pictures for items, assign scores, and determine if an item should add or deduct points or lives.
- Probability of Appearance: Set the appearance frequency (low, medium, high) for each item.
- Slicing Effects: Select effects like explosion, stars, drops, or lines for visual feedback during slicing.
- Effect Color: Pick a color for the slicing effect, with an automatic gradient for dynamic visuals.
- Slice Images: Option to display sliced items in parts.
- Item Occurrences and Size: Manage how often and in what size each item appears.
- Game Difficulty: Choose from easy, medium, expert, or gradual modes which adjust difficulty based on performance.
What advanced settings are available?
Advanced settings allow further control over gameplay, such as unlimited item display until the end of the game or limiting item occurrences. You can also adjust the item proportion to appear bigger or smaller, and set the game to become more challenging over time or based on performance.
What happens if a player slices a forbidden item?
Slicing a forbidden item may cause a loss of points or lives, depending on the game mode. Also, you can configure the game to display a shaking effect to visually indicate the mistake.
How do I ensure my game provides a dynamic experience?
You can enhance the game's dynamics by selecting various slicing effects, customizing effect colors (with automatic gradients), and utilizing the gradual difficulty mode, which escalates the challenge as players progress, ensuring an engaging experience for all skill levels.
