How to use dynamic variables in your campaigns

Variables are pieces of information that are related to a participation. You can use those to customise your messages at different places of the campaign (welcome screen, exit screen, automatic emails...)

Example:

This message in your exit screen: "Thank you {firstname}, you reached {score} points, you can participate again until {dateTO}."

Will display as such for the participant: "Thank you Marc, you reached 3 points, you can participate again until 15/09/2015."

You can use variables in:

  1. The welcome screen;
  2. The exit screen;
  3. The e-mail sent to participants (and its subject line);
  4. The share screens (e.g. the virality text for a Facebook share).

In these screens, below the text zone, you'll find a button that allows you to insert dynamic variables. Once you've clicked on this button, all the variables that can be used for this screen will appear.

You can also create customised variables (e.g. the participant's hobby, an opt-in etc.) in the "Settings" of your account (displayed in the upper part of every Qualifio screen).

In Qualifio, dynamic variables allow you to customize your campaign content by inserting participant-specific information. For variables with predefined (closed) values, such as gender, CRM variables or mapping variables, you can choose to display either the stored value or its corresponding label.

Displaying Labels for CRM and Mapping Variables

By default, dynamic variables display the stored value. For example, using {gender} might display "Male". However, if you prefer to show the label associated with that value, such as "Sir", you can append .label to the variable name: {gender.label}.
This functionality is not limited to CRM variables. You can also apply it to mapping variables. For instance, if you have a mapping variable for a participant's preferred language with the technical name language_pref, using {language_pref.label} will display the label (e.g., "English") instead of the stored value (e.g., "EN").

Note:

  • This approach works only with variables that have closed value sets.
  • If multiple labels share the same value, only the first matching label will be displayed

By using the .label suffix, you can ensure that your campaign messages are more readable and user-friendly, enhancing the participant experience.
